COURSE
NAME: Interpretive & Liturgical
Dance in Worship (Levels 1-3)
Course
Description
Students are
instructed on the biblical origin of dance, sacred dance traditions, and the
evolution of dance in a worship service or setting. Students will be introduced to the
interpretive/liturgical dance vocabulary through movement demonstration, and
biblical instruction. Students will
learn to lead as pioneers on the cutting-edge of creativity in the ministry of
sacred dance as an open door to international mission endeavors, global Church
transformation, and evangelism for Jesus Christ. Students are encouraged to view sacred
artistry in the dance as God’s universal language, thus being a powerful tool
for ministry to all cultures.
Course Description:
Students will study the biblical uses and mentions of dance in the original Hebrew and Greek transliterations. Students will be able to identify the 12 acts of praise leading into the worship experience. Specific focus will be placed on those terms that relate to an action of movement in the body. They will be taught of the significance of certain gestures, their biblical meanings, and how they have evolved into full movement vocabulary that may be used powerfully to stir up the joy of the Lord, deliverance, and victory in spiritual battles.
COURSE
NAME: Prophetic Dance in Worship
(Level 1)
Course
Description
Students
will be introduced to the reality of prophetic movement through specialized
teaching, searching of the Scriptures, and demonstration. Students will analyze the prophetic content
of dreams, visions, signs, and wonders. Specifically, students will be provided
with biblical support, symbols, and references for the hidden wisdom, which God
reveals, to His servants through dreams.
The course will demonstrate the parallels between intercession, action
(movement), and manifestation of the will of God. Students will be trained in identifying the voice,
timing, & Word of God. Students will
be instructed in the art of journal writing and choreographing their own poems
and prophecies, which speak God’s heart concerning His people and the Nations. As a result, this class will produce dance
ministers with an ability to lead by accurately discerning and capturing the
message of the Holy Spirit to the Church, and bringing it forth through sacred
dance.
COURSE
NAME: Prophetic Dance in Worship
(Level 2)
Students
will experience the reality of prophetic movement through specialized teaching,
searching of the Scriptures, and demonstration.
Students will continue to analyze the prophetic content of dreams,
visions, signs, and wonders. Specifically, students will be provided with
biblical support, symbols, and references for the hidden wisdom, which God
reveals, to His servants through dreams.
Students will be trained to identify and counteract attacks of the enemy
via the mind, which attempts to hinder the prophetic voice and movement of
God. Students will be further trained
in identifying the voice, timing, & Word of God. Students will write and choreograph their own
poems and prophecies, which speak God’s heart concerning His people and the
Nations. As a result, this class will
produce dance ministers and writers with an ability to lead by accurately
discerning and capturing the message of the Holy Spirit to the Church, and
bringing it forth through sacred dance.
Course
Description
Students
will be introduced to fundamental aspects of choreography in a Christ-centered
environment. Students will learn basic
principles of dance composition, space, time dynamics, and movement invention. Students will be challenged in the areas of
their own creativity and personal style of movement. Instruction and understanding will be
provided in the various movement invention styles that minister to the Lord and
people of all cultures for the purpose of producing choreographic leaders. The course strives to impart an attitude of
global awareness and appreciation for choreographic styles and rhythms of other
nations as a means of identifying the student’s potential call to that region of
the world.

NAME: Messianic Praise in Baton &
Banner Technique
Students will learn the historical dimensions of Ancient Biblical worship, communal, and congregational dance. Students will understand the true meaning and essence of Messianic (those who believe that Jesus is the Messiah) in relation to traditional Jewish dance culture. A word-study of traditional Hebrew terminology relating to dance will be conducted. Students will be trained on the proficient & biblical use of use of batons, banners, and tambourines. Students will experience the various ways that God uses these items as powerful tools of worship. While the Jewish culture will be featured, students will also come to understand what effect (s) other diasporic peoples had, and continue to have on Ancient Biblical worship. With this knowledge, students will be challenged to lead others in congregational worship locally and during mission outreaches. As a result, a nation of dancers will emerge who are will also be able to begin their own congregational dance ministries.
COURSE
NAME: Choreo-Dramas & the Gospel Message
Students
will continue to explore the fundamental aspects of choreography in a
Christ-centered environment. Students
will build on principles of dance composition and movement invention while
incorporating the dramatic arts in order to convey a message. Students will be challenged to create choreo-dramas, which reflect deep issues of the heart,
social consciousness, and spiritual relevance.
All students will be encouraged to use their choreo-dramas
for street ministry, ministry to the poor, and ministry to children.

NAME: African Praise (Level 1-3)
Course
Description
Students will be introduced to the traditional movements
& rhythms of African Dance. Students
will be instructed on the history and richness of African dance as it relates
to the Diaspora and other indigenous people groups. Students will be made aware of how the
African Diaspora resulted in the spreading of African culture, religion, and
dances throughout areas such as

Students will be
introduced to traditional movements, sounds, and rhythms, of the contemporary
dance styles. Special focus will be on
that of the music and dance style native to the hip-hop culture. Students will have a brief history of hip-hop
music and how its influence has affected the fashion, attitudes, and dance
styles of many nations. Students will be
challenged to use the rhythms and movement combinations as praise to God as a
means of street ministry, evangelism, and warfare.
COURSE
NAME: Warfare in Prophetic Dance
Students will be
introduced to the reality of warfare through intercession, specialized teaching,
searching of the Scriptures, and demonstration.
The course will demonstrate the parallels between intercession, action
(movement), and manifestation of the will of God as it relates to spiritual
warfare. Students will be trained in
identifying the voice, timing, & Word of God. Students will be introduced to the various
levels of warfare, thus learning to discern when to initiate all out attack vs.
defense against the enemy. Much
discussion and demonstration will take place concerning the authority that the
dancing Believer has during the battle.
Students will be
instructed on the biblical origin of sacred garments created for those who
ministered before the Lord. They will
identify the various names and significance of the priestly garments and how
they may be creatively modified for 21st century dance and arts
ministry. Students will be instructed on
the biblical combinations of colors, their meanings, and how to select
appropriate color combinations that speak to the character of an individual or
group ministry. Students will also be
instructed on creating garments appropriate for various ministry venues in
cross-cultural situations.
This course is designed to introduce students to the area of fundamental production in a dance/theatrical context for ministry. The course will train students on how to construct and carryout a Christian theatrical production that incorporates the Sacred Arts. Special emphasis in this context will be in the area of dance. Students will learn the various aspects and roles in building a live stage production that use God’s Word through movement in creative ways. Its purpose: to stir existing Christians to action, while drawing lost souls to Christ through the Arts medium. Various ministry venues will be explored, including those within and outside of the Church for the purpose of missions outreach. As a result, the course will develop new Christian Arts producers, writers, and directors with the anointing and skill to take God’s Kingdom message to life throughout the nations.
